[Main Ingredients] Amitraz
[Description] This drug is of faint yellow transparent liquid.
[Pharmacological Action] Amitraz is a broad-spectrum insecticide effective against various mites, ticks, flies, lice, and other pests. It primarily acts as a contact poison, with additional stomach and systemic toxicity. The insecticidal effect of Amitraz is partly related to its inhibition of monoamine oxidase, an enzyme involved in the metabolism of amine neurotransmitters in the nervous systems of pests such as ticks and mites. Due to the action of Amitraz, blood-sucking arthropods become excessively excited, causing them to fail to attach to the host animal and fall off. The insecticidal effect of this drug is relatively slow, typically requiring 24 hours for lice and ticks to detach from the host and 48 hours for mites to fall off the affected skin. One application can maintain efficacy for 6 to 8 weeks, protecting livestock from further external parasitic infestations. Additionally, it also exhibits strong insecticidal activity against both large and small bee mites.
