[Main Ingredients] Malathion
[Description] This drug is of pale yellow transparent liquid.
[Pharmacological Action] Malathion is an organophosphorus insecticide that mainly kills pests through contact, stomach poisoning, and fumigation, without systemic insecticidal action. It has broad-spectrum efficacy, low toxicity, and safe usage characteristics. It is effective against mosquitoes, flies, lice, ticks, mites, and bedbugs. This drug can be absorbed through the skin when applied topically, with a higher distribution in adipose tissue, primarily metabolized by the liver, and most excreted through urine.
[Drug Interaction] It has a synergistic effect with other organophosphorus compounds and cholinesterase inhibitors, which can enhance toxicity when used concurrently.
[Function and Use] Insecticide, for eliminating external parasites.
[Dosage and Administration] Medicated baths or spraying: for livestock, diluted aqueous solution at a ratio of 1: (150 to 225) (0.2% to 0.3%, in malathion).
[Adverse Reaction] Overuse in animals may lead to cholinergic nerve excitation symptoms.
[Precautions] (1) This drug should not come into contact with alkaline substances or oxidizing substances.
(2) This drug is irritating to the eyes and skin, highly toxic to bees and has significant toxicity to fish. In case of poisoning in livestock, atropine can be used as an antidote.
(3) Livestock treated with malathion should avoid sunlight and wind exposure for several hours after application. If necessary, a medicated bath or spraying may be repeated every 2-3 weeks.
(4) It should not be used in animals less than one month old.
