[Main Ingredients] Vitamin A and Vitamin D2
[Description] This drug is of colorless or light yellow transparent oil liquid.
[Pharmacological Action] Pharmacodynamics: Vitamin A and Vitamin D are classified as drugs that regulate tissue metabolism. Vitamin A can promote growth and maintain the normal functions of epithelial tissues such as skin, conjunctiva, and cornea. It is also involved in the synthesis of rhodopsin, and can enhance the retina’s sensitivity to light. Additionally, it participates in many oxidation processes within the body, particularly the oxidation of unsaturated fatty acids. Deficiency leads to growth cessation, poor bone development, reduced reproductive capacity, rough and dry skin, corneal softening, and conditions such as xerophthalmia and night blindness. Besides, Vitamin D has a significant impact on calcium and phosphorus metabolism and the growth of young animals’ bones. Its primary physiological function is to promote the normal absorption of calcium and phosphorus in the small intestine. The metabolically active forms of Vitamin D regulate the renal tubules’ reabsorption of calcium, maintain the level of calcium in the circulating blood, and promote the normal development of bones.
[Drug Interaction] ① Hydroxylamine aluminum can reduce bile acids in the upper small intestine, which may affect the absorption of vitamin A. Mineral oil and neomycin can interfere with the absorption of vitamin A. ② Vitamin E can promote the absorption of vitamin A, but taking large amounts of vitamin E can deplete the stored vitamin A in the body. ③ High doses of vitamin A can counteract the anti-inflammatory effect of glucocorticoids. ④ Long-term use of liquid paraffin and neomycin can reduce the absorption of vitamin D. ⑤ Benzodiazepines and other drug enzyme inducers can accelerate the metabolism of vitamin D.
[Function and Use] Vitamin drug, for the treatment of vitamins A and D deficiencies, such as night blindness, corneal softening, dermatitis, rickets, and osteomalacia.
