[Main Ingredients] Naproxen

[Description] This drug is of almost colorless or faint yellow transparent liquid.

[Pharmacological Action] The inhibitory effect of this drug on prostaglandin synthase is 20 times that of aspirin. It has obvious anti-inflammatory effect, as well as analgesic and antipyretic effects. It has a positive effect on rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, gout, chronic diseases of the motor system (such as joints, muscles and tendons) and mild to moderate pain, and its efficacy is stronger than that of butazone.

[Drug Interaction] (1) This drug can enhance the anticoagulant effect of dicoumarin and cause poisoning and bleeding reactions. The reason is that naproxen can competitively combine with plasma proteins, increasing the proportion of free anticoagulants.

(2) When combined with furosemide or hydrochlorothiazide, the natriuretic and diuretic effect of the latter can be reduced, because this drug not only inhibits the synthesis of prostaglandins in the kidney, but also inhibits the excretion of diuretics from the renal tubules.

(3) Probenecid can increase the blood concentration of this drug and significantly prolong the plasma half-life of this drug.

(4) Aspirin can accelerate the excretion of this drug.

[Function and Use] Antipyretic, analgesic, and anti-inflammatory drugs, for the treatment of limping and arthritis caused by myositis and soft tissue pain.

[Dosage and Administration] Intravenous injection: 0.05ml/time per 1kg of body weight for horses.

[Adverse Reaction] (1) This drug also has inhibitory effect on platelet adhesion and aggregation, and can prolong coagulation time.

(2) This drug occasionally causes jaundice and edema. Attention should be paid to renal function damage if this drug is administrated for a long time.

[Precautions] It should be used with caution for animals with digestive tract ulcer.

[Withdrawal Period] It is not required.
