[Main Ingredients] Dimetridazole
[Description] This drug is of white or off-white powder or granules.
[Pharmacological Action] Pharmacodynamics: Dimetridazole is an antiprotozoal agent with broad-spectrum antibacterial and antiprotozoal effects. It is effective against anaerobic bacteria, Vibrio coli, streptococci, staphylococci, and treponema. In addition, it is effective against histomonas meleagridis, infusorian, amebic protozoa, and so forth.
[Drug Interaction] It cannot be used in combination with other drugs against histomonas meleagridis.
[Function and Use] Antiprotozoal drug, for the treatment of swine treponemal dysentery and histomoniasis in poultry.
[Dosage and Administration] On the basis of this drug. Mixed feeding: per 1000kg of fodders, 1000-2500g for pigs and 400-2500g for chickens.
[Adverse Reaction] Chickens are sensitive to this drug, and large doses can cause imbalance and liver and kidney function damage.
[Precautions] (1) It cannot be used in combination with other anti-trichomonas drugs.
(2) The continuous administration period for chickens should not exceed 10 days.
(3) It is prohibited to use this drug during the laying period of laying hens.
