[Main Ingredients] Doxycycline Hyclate
[Description] This drug is of light yellow or yellow crystalline powder.
[Pharmacological Action] Tetracycline antibiotic. Doxycycline reversibly binds to the receptor on the 30S ribosomal subunit of bacteria, and interferes with the formation of the ribosome complex by tRNA and mRNA to inhibit peptide elongation and suppress protein synthesis. This rapidly inhibits the growth and reproduction of bacteria. Besides, doxycycline has an inhibitory effect on both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. Bacteria also exhibit cross-resistance between doxycycline and oxytetracycline.
Oral administration results in rapid absorption, with minimal impact from food, high bioavailability, strong tissue penetration, wide distribution, and a long duration of effective blood drug concentration. The protein binding rate in swine is 93%.
[Function and Use] Tetracycline antibiotic, for the treatment of diseases caused by Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Salmonella, and Pasteurella in swine and chickens, as well as respiratory diseases caused by mycoplasma.
